FINAL IMAGES & EVALUATION
Chosen images
Presentation & evaluation
The optional unit I have chosen is location photography. I’ve chosen location photography as I enjoy being out watching people and life as it happens.
My overall ideas for this theme is to explore movement and transport in an around the city centre, specifically trying to incorporate long exposure, both in camera and in post production.
Whilst developing Unit 2 I really enjoyed looking at the work of Alexey Titarenko, so decided to explore his work further, and at the same time draw inspiration from a couple of more modern urban artists, Mike Wills and Marc Barker.
I used mainly long exposure photography with a tripod and during daylight shoots an ND filter, in post production I have to adjust exposure and levels due to the shadows created in the heavily built up city centre.
For my final shoot I decided to focus on long exposure during daylight as I thought using an ND filter would be more of a challenge and develop my photography further.
I think the final images produced offer a mixed set of results, if I had more time I’d love to be able to spend time in the city centre at various times of the day/night and see what effect that has on the images produced, maybe doing a night shoot would be a good challenge

"Photography was relevant to each shoot he undertook. He has a good, clear understanding of the lighting and editing/enhancements needed for his overall images. They were bright and bold and linked in well to his chosen artists; he has developed his photos well. The only improvement I can think is to continue being creative with his images - Try various locations, angles, times of day to see which works best! Well done, they look really good"
Wayne's location images link into his chosen theme well. He has managed to capture the movement and feel of the trams in Manchester city centre. He has edited them well to increase that feeling of movement and the Hussle and bustle of a busy city centre. They link in well with his chosen Artists style. The only improvement I could perhaps suggest is maybe to get some different time of day for shots such as night time. Over all though great images and editing.
Response
I really appreciate the kind comments received about my images, and fully take on board the suggestions given, I plan to explore long exposure photography further, both in and out of the city. I plan to do another shoot in the evening (probably when the night start drawing in a little) I also want to explore other aspects of long exposure, such as the movement of water or clouds etc
